The USGA would like to set “Succession of the True Church” as the 2025 theme for all local churches to follow.

EXPLANATION:

• This theme aims to guide all local churches in focusing on various aspects of succession. Jesus set an excellent example of passing on His great mission during His earthly ministry, ensuring His disciples could fulfill it. He accomplished this by teaching the truth, demonstrating a practical life of faith, and exemplifying a spirit of service. 

• We hope to use this theme to emphasize these four important aspects of succession: commission, truth, faith, and ministry.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

• The local churches to focus on the following areas:

  1. Sermons on Succession: Schedule speakers to deliver sermons focused on this theme of succession.

  2. Mentorship Program: Pair experienced or senior members with younger members to share spiritual wisdom and the spirit of servitude to the Lord.

  3. Ministry Opportunities: Provide opportunities for experienced and younger members to serve together in visitation, outreach, prayer, cooking, and fellowship teams.

  4. Expanding RE Teachers’ Role: Develop a plan for Religious Education teachers to expand their service beyond the Religious Education Department into other church ministries.

  5. Workshops and Seminars: Organize workshops and training seminars to equip members for ministry work such as sermon speaking, Bible study leading, interpretation, music ministry, and more. Arrange for mentors experienced in specific ministries to guide and nurture younger members in their growth in service.

  6. Training RE Students: Implement a training program for Religious Education students to develop skills in personal evangelism, interpretation, and music ministry. Students can then share their experiences in faith and servitude with others.

• Each local church council to utilize their monthly spiritual cultivation time to share with one another regarding this theme.

• USGA to upload all plans submitted by local churches (by January 31st, 2025) so that local churches can learn from one another.

• Announce this theme and overall plan to the congregation and encourage all members to strive towards this goal in this year.
